Tyler's Story...
TYLER

When we first met Tyler, he was skin and bones. With the help of his foster, he now is at a healthy weight of about 10 pounds and has a gorgeous shiny coat. Tyler is a 5 or 6 year old Long-haired Doxie mix. He loves attention and to be cuddled. Tyler is very much a lapdog. For such a little guy he'll try to take over your entire lap so he won't have to share! He has learned how to use the dog door and he loves to romp around and play with his foster pack. Tyler is not a yappy, barky dog. He is quite calm and relaxed. He sleeps in the bed on a pillow and likes to snuggle up close. Tyler will make a great companion for someone or a family with older children. If you would like to make Tyler part of your family, please complete an online application at www.lapdogrescue.org and be sure to include his name at the top.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tyler, a Tijeras Dachshund/Papillon dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Papillon for sale in Tijeras, or seeking a Dachshund/Papillon dog from a breeder in Tijeras.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tijeras already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tijeras breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Papillon breeders who help with Dachshund/Papillon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tijeras paves the way for another one to be saved.
