Dusty (D0173)'s Story...
Dusty is an owner surrender because the small children in his home were scared of dogs. This guy is was adopted from a shelter in Massachusetts as a puppy 9.5 yrs ago, he has been seen regularly by the vet and is up to date on all shots. He is a black lab/chow mix, having a lab-like body with a longer coat like a chow. He loves playing out doors, going hiking & swimming. He's independent but yet wants to be close to the family. He's very food driven & knows many commands. He is good with cats, and is okay with older kids (12 or older where they are more adult size), he is not aggressive with smaller children, just doesn't like being around them that much.

If interested in adoption, please complete an online application on 4 Paws Animal Rescue's website at www.4pawz.org. We verify the care of past/current pets. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dusty (D0173), a Hayes Labrador Retriever/Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Chow Chow for sale in Hayes, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Hayes.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hayes already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hayes breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Chow Chow breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hayes paves the way for another one to be saved.
