Here's what the humans have to say about me:
ROBBIE's story is a tough one. Kept as a backyard dog, he spent his young life outside, but at least with his female mate and their many pups. When the owner died, the dogs and pups had to be re-homed fast. We helped the family by taking a total of 12 dogs and pups, including two with parvo virus. These dogs were all a little timid and uncertain of human attention, but as with all the others, once ROBBIE trusts you he is a delightful small, affectionate lover.
He will do best in a quiet adult home, with or without another dog. After all the difficulties of his previous life he deserves all the love in the world. He does have an old injury, which was never treated, to one of his front legs, which makes it seem almost rubbery. As a consequence he can sometimes seem uncomfortable.
He is a sweet loving, loyal companion.
We do NOT (except in unusual circumstances) adopt beyond a 50 mile radius from the East Bay, so that we can adequately do a home check and follow up.
