Facts about Mavi

  • Breed: Boxer
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Mavi is a medium sized fawn female with a black mask, cropped tail and natural ears. This 2 year old is healthy, active and very well behaved. She is heartworm positive, but she is not symptomatic and ABR always works with the forever family for treatment.

Mavi is a bit deceptive. ABR was concerned about her reactions to other dogs, but when her experienced foster mom took her home and slowly, gradually introduced her to the other dogs in her home, Mavi did great. As she learned she was safe and she was not going to be hurt, she blossomed into a playful, exceptionally well behaved 2 year old. She needs reassurance, some correction and guidance, but her confidence is growing every day. She will need slow, gradual introductions to new dogs and new situations, but with continued support she will master them too.

Mavi is house trained, excellent in her crate, good on walks and very respectful of her foster family; especially the 6 year old skin kid. She doesn’t jump up and takes correction very well. She’s met cats and done well although she does not currently live with any. Mavi is also a great snuggler with dogs or humans once she has enough energy burned off to need a nap. If you are a patient, strong, supportive pack leader who loves snuggles, play and loyalty, Mavi’s your girl.

Mavi was adopted in July 2016. Her family received an unanticipated offer to relocate and cannot take Mavi with them. Her foster mom wrote the following note for her:

Maggie is a great house guest. She's extremely affectionate especially with her young human foster siblings (1 & 3). She is house, car, crate and leash trained. She follows commands well and is eager to learn. She has a typical Boxer personality. She would love to be with a family that would involve her in their adventures. Even in the most intimidating environment she will follow your lead. She is 45-50 lbs and while she might fill out, she's not likely to get bigger. She is almost as big of a couch potato as she is a teenage Boxer! Don't let her sad soulful eyes fool you, she's happy all the time. She is heartworm positive but not symptomatic. This sweet girl will steal your heart in an instant and continue to impress you everyday.
