My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

8/21/16 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!
Adoption Fee: $200

Fostered in Louisiana

Age: 9 years

Weight: 11 lbs.

5/20/16 - As fine wine, I’ve aged to perfection (will be 9 years on July 11th). Although, please be informed that I am almost 9 going on 4. You would never know my age by my zest for life and energy. As diamond clarity, I’m “FL” (which is completely flawless). In comparison to my fuzzy four-legged friends, I am the “Crème de la crème”. I’m Rocky. My name suits me since I’m a little bulked up in the weight department. Feel free to adopt me, give me a last name and put me on a diet. My previous home was filling up in the children department and they were too busy for me.

I get along fine with other dogs my size. I absolutely love sleeping in bed with my people. I love all people and love getting and giving attention. When no one is home, I just like chilling on the sofa and watching tv. I’m pretty good in the potty department once you get my signs down. My sign is: I bother you incessantly when I need to go. You just have to learn the “I need to go” incessant bothering from the “I love you and want attention” incessant bothering. Lol I do go often, so don’t need to be left for long hours.

I am a chow hound, so cannot free feed. I also beg for human food. This is probably from pestering the kids in my previous home until they gave in or dropped food. This isn’t good obviously, so don’t give in to my begs. There are healthy snacks that you can give me. Matters none to me what it is, I just love eating. I am a pure terrier when it comes to squirrels, racoons, cats, etc. My prey drive is strong and I would take off in a minute after these little things. So, no cats in the household and when walking, ALWAYS on a harness and leash. I walk well, but when I see a cat, I lose my mind and want to chase it and will pull you down the street.

I love playing with toys, but will tear them up quickly if they are plush. This could be dangerous, so stronger toys would be better for me. I am a real sweetheart and would sit in your lap all day and night and be petted, snuggled with, kissed, etc. You get the hint, I love attention. I am attention starved. I don’t even mind being bathed, blowdried and brushed, as long as I’m getting petted and getting attention. I am very inquisitive, not timid or shy at all. I can jump up on the sofa, but will need steps to get on and off the bed.

I can sometimes be a terror with medicine and will snap unless you are talking to me gently and do this slowly. Used to having kids throwing their hands in my face all the time pretty much put me on alert now.

I am clingy, and will follow you everywhere you go. I know how to sit. I am a catch if I must say so myself. Foster mom says that I am a great little guy and a family would be very lucky to have me. Is that you?
