Snow Puff's Story...
Snow Puff landed at animal control back in January and once we heard his story, we just had to help him!! This poor baby had been found outside literally frozen to the ground! He has had to have some surgeries on his back legs due to frostbitten toes on one back foot that had to be removed and the other whole back foot had to be removed. He has healed great and is ready to start looking for his forever home!

Snow Puff is now about 8 months old. Because of the missing toes and missing foot, he does walk with a limp but he gets around just fine and it doesn't seem to bother him at all. He has been living at our vet's office while his legs were being treated so he can be a little shy at first sometimes but he is an absolute sweetheart and likes being carried around and getting your affection! He is still a kitten and loves to play just like any other happy kitten. Gets along great with the other cats. He may not be physically perfect but that shouldn't sway you away from him! He is one awesome kitten!!

*Now that Snow Puff is healed, we are also looking for a foster home for him until he's adopted. If interested in fostering, please send us an email and we'll send you info on fostering for us!*

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Snow Puff, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
