My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet this pretty girl named Shelby, a 2-year-old, believed to be a mixture of Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd. She is current on her vaccinations and has been microchipped and spayed.

She is loved by her foster family but needs one of her own, please read what her foster mom says about this wonderful girl.

She enjoys being brushed, hopping (springing!) like a rabbit and running, as well as being hugged. She does well with other dogs, and children, (although caution would be needed around little ones since she jumps and runs and may unintentionally knock them over in her excitement, but she's not aggressive.)

She is not a huge fan of baths or nail trims, but with patience, she tolerates them. When it comes to a haircut, she will usually lay down and take a snooze!

Shelby is housebroken, and she'll let you know she needs to go potty by either woofing at you or going to the back door and moving the blinds. When outside, we put her on a long run to ensure her safety and keep her from trying to dig out. (She does very well, and she'll even wait for you to put the run on her before she'll go outside.) Shelby is also crate trained. She likes to sleep in her crate at night, and when no one is home, and she'll even go in on her own when she senses it's time.

Car rides are always welcome, as are long walks and lots of hugs kisses. (Shelby doesn't give kisses, but she enjoys receiving them!) Don't let her size fool you! Being 80 lbs is no obstacle to her! She will gladly climb into your lap to give hugs and take a nap, (as long as you're ok with that.)

Shelby will sit, lay down, and shake. She's also learning not to "paw" for attention. She's an eager and quick learner! Shelby is also a great watch girl, and she will alert you when someone or something is nearby by barking. (She has a deep bark and sounds scary, but we call her the "Gentle Giant.")

Shelby is a sweet, funny, playful and happy girl who loves being around people and other dogs!

We do vet checks and home visits on our adopters. Adoption fee is $385 and all dogs are neutered/spayed and up to date on shots.Go to www.addicuslegacy.org to complete an application. Please note she is NOT in CT and will be adopted from transport..
