VINNY needs a HERO!!
Vinny is a sweet little guy who LOVES people! He is about 16 months old and weighs 38 pounds. Vinny loves crawling into your lap for pets and snuggles. He likes long walks and does well on leash and rides great in the car..
Vinny came to us with bite wounds on his head, neck and throat. He has only a partial right ear due to his injuries. Because of Vinny's past, we are looking for a home with no other dogs. Vinny is great with the small female dogs in his foster home, but challenges the older male dog. His adopter should be willing to continue Vinny's training to help him become the best canine citizen he can be!
Vinny is a really sweet boy who deserves a great home and family to love. If you think you might be the HERO Vinny is looking for, please contact us asap!

Adopters must live within 2 hours of Wheaton/Winfield. IL.

About Dire Straits Companion Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Dire Straits is a small all-volunteer organization that was started in 2007 to rescue injured, abused and neglected dogs and cats. Our rescues often require extensive medical care and recuperation time for their injuries. They are cared for in foster homes and all medical expenses are covered by donations and adoption fees. We are always in need of more quality foster homes and we are very thankful for any donations that come our way. If you are interested in providing a foster home for a needy dog or cat or would like to make a donation toward medical care, please email Jan at: direstraitsresq@mail.com.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process begins with our adoption application. After filling out the application, potential adopters will be contacted by email or phone. If the applicant seems to be a good match for the dog or cat they are interested in, we will set up a home visit with the pet. All family members and other pets must be present at the time of the visit. There is an adoption fee that covers vet exam, vaccinations, heartworm or combo testing, deworming, spay/neuter, microchip and microchip registration, along with any other medical care needed. Adoption fees for dogs range from $250 to $325 and cats are $125 to $175.
