Sugar & Spice were turned at local shelter. Sugar was in such very poor shape that the shelter was going to euthanize her. Because the bunnies bond was so tight, a shelter rep reached out to us for help.

The bunnies were immediately taken to our vet....Sugar was tilted, appeared to have rear paralysis, an open sore on her left hock and a scabbed sore on her right hock. She was diagnosed with head tilt from e cuniculi. X-ray showed her left hock was locked I'm place from scar tissue but did not show any breaks or dislocations. She has been treated and has made a fantastic recovery.

Daily range of motion exercises and metacam to relieve pain from arthritis in Sugar's hips and lower spine. Because of her locked left hock joint, Sugar can not clean her left ear and it must be manually cleaned periodically.

Sugar loves to lay on her sheep shearling (potty box) and Spice lays with her. She has a vigorous appetite and loves her greens and pellets. She is not huge on eating hay but nibbles on it, especially if you put it in front of her. Movement is restricted but she is able to move around and she can get into and out of a carrier or low sided potty box.

Spice has no known health problems. He is very tightly bonded to Sugar and she to him.

Both Sugar & Spice are sweet, friendly bunnies that enjoy attention. Spice loves to play with his toys. They are happy with their life despite Sugar's health issues and disabilities. They are love bugs!
