What do you get when you cross a Boston Terrier with a Chihuahua? You get a tiny girl with a lot of personality!! Mayzie was a young mother when she was owner-surrendered. Seems giving Mayzie away, rather than spaying her so she never had puppies again, was easier for her former owner to deal with. Thank goodness we were there to welcome Mayzie, spay her pronto, and promise to find her a family who will love her forever.
Her foster mom writes:
"Mayzie is extremely friendly and has gained many admirers on our daily walks. Mayzie is a fantastic companion who just wants to be with you! She’s happy doing whatever you are doing, and she happily plays by herself if you're too busy. She loves squeaky soft toys and can play with them for hours, or give her an antler and she'll keep busy for hours. Mayzie also loves to play fetch . . . as long as she can fit the Fetch toy in her little mouth! She plays with our three year old -- the sand pit is a particular favorite of theirs!! When Mayzie first came to our home she was nervous of men, but as soon as Mayzie relaxed into the family and fell into our routine, she has loved every single member of the family and whoever walks through our door -- male or female. I’ve never known a dog to loved being toweled off after a rainy walk or bath as much as Mayzie! She gets so excited when she sees a towel. She just loves to be wrapped up in the towel and will often carry her towel to you for an extra rub. It's adorable!!"
Until her foster home, Mayzie was living with other dogs but currently she is an Only-dog for the first time in her life, so it was an adjustment that she made easily . . . but we still think she'd appreciate having a doggy brother or sister to keep her company. Mayzie is about a year and a half old, she weighs about 11 pounds and she's a very healthy girl. If Mayzie's bright little spirit matches yours, please visit www.pinkshelter.org for more information about the adoption process or click
here for our online application. Full vetting, microchip and spay included in her $350 adoption fee. Transport fee is additional $150.
