My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lola!
My name is Lola and I'm a purebred English Bull Terrier. I came into my current home at the end of December and my mom has been working really hard to help train me.

I've gone through 2 training programs and I am pretty well behaved for a puppy. My issue is with cats. I have a strong prey drive and I just came seem to leave the resident cats (and parrot) alone. My mom has seen some progress, but after 4 months, I still have a strong desire to chase if one happens to wiz past me. I am good with other dogs, but I do play rough, so a younger male dog of my size would probably be the best home for me. I currently live with an older male greyhound and young male 15 pound chihuahua. I run laps around the yard with the greyhound and play wrestle with the chihuahua. I live with young kids, a 2 year old and a 5 year old. I have never shown any type of aggression with them. I am still a puppy, so I sometimes jump up or bump into them, but my mom has worked very hard with me and I hardly ever do this any more.

I am 100% housebroken, in fact, I scratch at the back door when I want to go out. I have a LOT of energy, so I love having a fenced in yard to run off some energy. I am great in my kennel, I go in nicely when asked and I'm quiet and sleep in it all night.

This is a very hard decision for my mom and has been putting it off for a while, but feel it's the best option. My mom is my third home in my short life and I really need the next home to be my forever home, therefore my mom will make sure that it's a great fit before she makes the decision to rehome me.

Please research the breed before completing an application. We are a very high energy breed (think of an energizer bunny). We are strong willed and stubborn, but is very treat motivated. We are the clowns of the dog world and very loyal to our families. I can be leery of strangers and give a strong bark, but have never tried biting anyone. If you think you are the perfect home for me, please reach out to my mom.

Lola’s adoption fee is $450 and she is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
