Colt's Story...
Gallop on down to Friendship and adopt Colt. He's a one year old cute Shepherd mix that arrived from another facility so his history is a mystery. Colt is a calm boy that is a new arrival so it's best to stop by for a visit to find out more about him. He has a "party hat" on because he was recently neutered and licking the area. It would be great to start out your summer with a new 4-legged friend...Colt just may fit the bill.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Colt, a Elyria Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
