Queenie came to us in Dec with 3 boys in tow, she loves being outside on the farm but after speaking with the vet we believe she was caught in a leg trap and do not want to imagine what she had to do to free herself and return to the farm we were happy she returned but horrified at the site. Queenie came home today~ Saturday, after her surgery and needs follow ups and stitches removed. The rescue still has an extensive bill on her. If anyone wishes to help with her vet surgery bill they are able to contact the vets office directly mon to friday 8 to 5 270-365-9822 and contribute any amount is greatly appreciated. And she is still searching for her forever family. Queenie would be a perfect fit for several homes, families w kids or settled couple. Walks hikes or just sitting around. She loves laying on the deck. We have been so upset thinking she was stolen by people taking pets from yards around here, then when she came back it was horrible. It was amputate the whole leg or euthanize. So we put the surgery on the account. She is quiet sweet but loves walking around taking a stroll and under 30lbs pug cattle dog mix 3 yrs house broken heartworm negative and past all the chewing. She's a sweet settled girl.

Most available pets for adoption start in foster care in KY/TN. This allows for time to start each animal on a vetting schedule ie de-wormer, vaccines, vet apts. This is for the animals health & well being.
This rescue has two forms of adoption and animals are posted where future foster homes may be. Direct adoption which is once an animal had been out of the shelter for 2 plus wks has two or more 5 way vaccines and your able to meet transport and take the pup home. Meet n greet adoption is IF the pet is not adopted first and arrives in foster care up north. This will occur once all vaccines, vetting and willing foster home is available. Transport takes adopted pets first from all agencies so availability depends on the transport companies open spots.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Queenie~2, a Waterbury Pug/Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Waterbury, or seeking a Pug/Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Waterbury.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Waterbury already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Waterbury breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Pug/Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Waterbury paves the way for another one to be saved.
