Katerina's Story...

As her pictures show, Katerina is a beautiful, approx. 5-year-old, pure black, declawed female. When her 92-year-old mom passed away, Katerina was left in her home for 3 months with practically no human contact. Once a week, an in-law would drop a bag of cat food. No water was provided. She had to drink from the toilet! For most of her life, Katerina's mom was her only human contact. She became a Stray Cat Blues foster kitty after a friend of the family found out in what squalor Katerina was living. She went and got her out and is keeping her until she is adopted through Stray Cat Blues. She was very shy at first and stayed under the bed. Now she sleeps on the bed and sits close to her rescuer. She greets her rescuer when she comes into the room and rubs against her legs. She loves being pet, but is uncomfortable about being picked up. Since she is used to a quiet life, she would make a great companion for a single person.

Katerina is spayed, litterbox trained, is up to date on vaccinations, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Katerina, a Colmar Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Colmar, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Colmar.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colmar already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colmar breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colmar paves the way for another one to be saved.
