Hi! Hatchie's foster mom here for the BEST DOG IN THE WORLD. No, we don't know his breed mix...it's a guess of whatever a beautiful long-haired, mellow boy could be. Hatchie and his sweet gal pal River were rescued by canoe during flooding - she would not leave the flooded island until he was loaded into the canoe (River is the sweet golden dog in pic #2). He was so terrified he wouldn't even stand up and had to be carried. He has made a full recovery and transition into a loved companion. He is fostered with 2 little boys and dogs of all sizes. Hatchie is a COUCH POTATO. Do not try to run with this dog. He may amble playfully for 15 to 20 seconds but he takes his job as a fireside chat dog extremely seriously. He is adored and loved by the whole foster family, so sending us a quick email to let us know how your boy is doing would be awesome, or even meeting up at the annual reunion in Southbury where we have lots of fun seeing our past fosters. This dog is a total gem and if you're looking for a laid-back dog, he's the ticket. Please note I am allergic to cats - given his total lack of prey drive he is probably cat safe but I can't guarantee it. You won't find a more gentle soul than this boy - oh - and his age guess is 3-4, I would classify size as medium to large.

This dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has been treated for heartworms. The adoption fee is $375 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.
If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between noon and 2pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.
