Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Copper is truly a "dog's dog," in the sense that although he loves his human companions, he is extremely submissive and looks to other dogs for guidance. He loves to eat, play, & go for short walks around the block. He is extremely food motivated, which should make him easily trainable. He is accustomed to sleeping in his crate at night & willingly crates himself when tired or when offered a treat if he is being left alone. He is completely house broken and if he is left in a crate for a typical work day, he has not had a single accident. He loves bully sticks and other chew treats. He is approximately 2-3 years old, but acts like a puppy in the sense that if something (like a sock, or a small pillow) is left on the floor, it is fair game. Although he didn't bark when we first got him from the shelter, now he greets us when we come home with the typical "beagle bay." ..other than that, he doesn't bark much. He has abnormally huge paws for a beagle, which everybody he has ever met has commented on, and mentioned how cute they are. He would do best in a home with another dog or multiple dogs. He looks up to other dogs and is extremely submissive, allowing them to lead in play. He loves to be outside and bathe in the sun. He would probably do best in a home with older children.. He loves our oldest son (8) but was kind of intimidated by our youngest (almost 2). He has not been introduced to cats. he has come out of his shell A LOT in the time we have had him, but I feel like he still has a ways to go. He is extremely sweet and loving. His pictures will tell this part, but I absolutely love beagles and have met a lot in my life, but he is by far one of the most handsome I have ever seen!
Copper is fostered in Huntsville, AL. If you are interested in meeting him email info@forrescue.net.
