My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lacy is a red/white smooth-coated Chihuahua. She is 2 years old and weighs all of 7 lbs. She came into the shelter with her two pups which were adopted and she was left behind. Lacy is very sweet and gets along well with other dogs. She is shy at first but warms up quickly and walks well on a leash. Lacy is almost housetrained and sleeps well in her crate at night. She has some separation anxiety and may cry when left alone. At the moment she has a skin infection but it is not contagious and is being treated by a vet. She has a luxating patella (floating kneecap) which is common in small dogs but we will pay for the surgery to correct this. She is missing a number of teeth but it is symmetrical on both sides so it is likely that she was born without them. There is a very slight possibility that her teeth may have been extracted during a teeth cleaning which would mean that she is older than 2 years old. Our vet is leaning towards her never having had them in the first place but we need to disclose that there is a possibility that she is older than we think. She has a low grade heart murmur which most likely won’t affect her lifespan or her activities. She’s had a tough time of it so far but she is ready for her next big adventure and just longing for some people of her own. Come see her at our adoption fair and you’ll want to take this beautiful girl home with you.
