Clarabella's Story...
Hi folks, my name is Clarabella and I came to Helping PAWS from a big scary shelter. There was lots of noise and funny smells and lots of other animals. I was so shy and scared that the people there decided I should come to HPPR where I could come out of my shell. Well, I’m out! I’m still a little shy, but I have learned to play and sit in laps and enjoy treats. I’m housetrained and I walk very nicely on my little leash. I can even do a “play bow” to show you I’m ready for fun. I have a tiny little bark that is no bigger than I am and rumor has it that I’m learning to do the hula! I’m looking for a forever home where I can continue to gain confidence and become the brave, happy dog that I want to be. It would be better if there weren’t little kids there, because I’m pretty small and fragile. Older, respectful kids would be great however. I’m used to the cats here at HPPR, so they would be okay too. If you’re looking for a playful, gentle, cuddly, little lap dog, look no further.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Clarabella, a Washburn Chihuahua puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Washburn, or seeking a Chihuahua puppy from a breeder in Washburn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Washburn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Washburn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Washburn paves the way for another one to be saved.
