Blair's Story...
IDGSR welcomes Blair into the safety of the rescue!!!!

Blair is a female German Shepherd who is 12 weeks old. Blair had a rough start to her young life. She was found with her 2 sisters in a rural wooded area of Mississippi where an unkind person had dumped them and left them to fend for themselves. A caring rescuer found them and we took them all into the rescue where good food, medical care and loving foster homes have turned their lives around. Blair has a wonderful temperament and gets along with everyone - people, dogs and even cats. A very loving and sweet dog who is ready to live with a family of her own. Blair is currently being fostered in Memphis.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blair, a Portland German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Portland, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
