found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
He is a very sweet lover boy who likes to be near you as much as possible. He enjoys outdoor time, but he has a moderate activity level and will do with quick strolls rather than a long walk - sufficient for exercise. He’s ready to be a great companion for someone who’s mellow and loving~
Mostly, Colby wants to be near you, but not necessarily on you. He is content to be in his bed in the room where you are or on the couch next to you. He is not a jumper though and will need help up when getting on furniture….pet steps would be a big help, please. :) He is a good sleeper and loves to sleep with his person at night.
Colby is a happy little dog and loves having another small dog companion to pal around with. He gets along with all dogs, but has shown a preference for female companionship. ABGRA would prefer to pair him with another small dog companion or a very very gentle larger dog only. At times, Colby will play like a puppy and depending on the activity level of his playmate, his activity level will adjust to the activity in the home. He has a very good and gentle nature.
Colby is not a barker and would do OK in a condo or apartment as long as he can get regular breaks outside. He will let out a little bark when he’s excited or wants attention or a treat, but most of the time he’s just quietly hanging out.
Colby’s previous owners both passed away within 5 weeks of each other and he was very sad & lonely since their death, but he has had a happy, interested-in-life attitude since coming into rescue. We would prefer to place Colby with someone who works from home, can take him to work with them, or is retired so that he will not spend much time alone anymore.
Colby is up to date on his vaccines, is neutered, is microchipped, and had a dental done 1 year ago. He is seems in good health for his age and is not taking any medication.
We prefer to place Colby within Driving distance. If someone outside the local Southern California area is approved for adoption, they must drive the distance and Colby must be able to travel comfortably. Our rescued dogs may never be shipped and we do not transport them to adoptive homes. ABGRA dogs are never placed in homes with invisible (electric) fencing. Doggy doors are OK as long as they are secured at night and when you are gone. Colby is small enough to be carried away by a hawk, coyote, or other predator so should never be outside alone.
