found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and not good with cats.
Calvin is very loving and friendly with adults and older kids with whom he’s had a proper introduction. He has also been good with other dogs he meets off-leash. Calvin’s main issues are his initial shyness with new people and reactivity on leash. His current family has done a great job counter-conditioning Calvin—our volunteers have found that he responds easily to having his focus re-directed while on walks. For this reason, we don’t recommend him for a family that has small children or that will have babies in the next few years, and while walks, hikes, runs, and play dates with other dogs in a fenced yard would be great, the off-leash dog park where strangers can approach him freely should be avoided.
But Calvin also has great points: he loves to snuggle, chew his dog toys, get belly scratches, and play. He is intelligent, responsive, and has great basic obedience: he knows sit, shake, down, come, move this way, leave it, go to crate, and he will come running when he hears his emergency recall word “woo wee”. Calvin is housebroken, quiet indoors, crate trained, and muzzle trained for the rare time when he has to be close to people he doesn’t know well. Calvin would do great in a quieter home with older children and/or with an active couple or single person. He would be a perfect sidekick for outdoor adventures and road trips.
Calvin’s adoption fee is $250 and includes his up-to-date basic vaccines, up-to-date rabies vaccine, and microchip (and he will come with some of his own supplies).
