Facts about Lola & Jerry - Sweet Senior Pa

  • Breed: Chihuahua/Rat Terrier Mix
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut - With White
  • Age: Senior
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
*Jerry and Lola are a bonded pair.*

Jerry is a distinguished little gentleman and met his lady Lola many years ago. They've been together ever since. He is a 9 year old, 15 lb, Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix. Lola is 11 years old and a whopping 6 lbs! These two were sadly surrendered by their heartbroken owner when he could no longer give them the time and love they needed. Jerry has some issues with separation anxiety so we'd prefer they go to a home with someone who will be home more often. He is a people-dog (loves all the people!) and makes great company. He will go anywhere with you! He was recently neutered and had to have 19 teeth extracted. (Regular dental check ups are important!) But he is feeling much better now! Lola is also very friendly but prefers a quiet night in with her special people. So if you have a lap that needs warming, look no further!

They are OK with cats but would do best with No Cats or cats who are dog savvy (won't run) as they will give a bit of a chase. They are both OK with other dogs but would benefit from some socialization with other small gentle dogs. These two are incredibly sweet but because these are such small seniors kids over 10 are preferred.

The adoption fee is $250 each and includes up-to-date vaccinations, rabies vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, and other vet care

Even though the rescue is based in Eastern Washington, we are looking for a foster home or adopter in the Seattle area, and have a transport scheduled to bring him there. Finding homes for senior pups can be hard, so if you feel you could provide a loving, stable home please email connellpetrescue@gmail.com for an application or fill one out online here https://goo.gl/forms/gadZIne2cBlRKtnG2

About Red Waggin' Rescue - Kirkland Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Red Waggin' Pet Rescue is a 501(c)3 that grew out of Connell Pet Rescue. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers that do this part-time and unpaid.

The City of Connell is located in Eastern Washington, and since it is a small city, it has no animal control, no proper animal shelter, and no pet rescue services. Red Waggin' Rescue is fully staffed by part-time volunteers to help the City of Connell Police Department rescue, provide vet care for, and find new forever homes for homeless dogs and other animals from Connell, WA and the surrounding areas. Our volunteers and foster homes are active in both Eastern Washington and the Puget Sound areas.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Although there is a small holding area managed by the City of Connell Police Department, Red Waggin' Rescue/Connell Pet Rescue has no permanent shelter facility.

Our animals stay in foster homes while they await their new homes, that are found in Eastern Washington and all the way to the Puget Sound area.

Generally, if an approved adopter is interested in another part of Washington State, transport can be arranged and runs roughly every other weekend.

Our Adoption Process...

Email Connellpetrescue@gmail.com for an adoption application form.

If you are interested to make one of our animals your new family member, please email connellpetrescue@gmail.com for an application form, which you may fill out and email back to us.

Please allow a few days for a response, as we are only part-time volunteers. We require a completed application in order to meet a pet.

Once approved, if you meet a pet and all agree it is a good match: a volunteer will do a home visit, you will sign an adoption contract, pay the adoption fee, and begin the approval period. Generally, adoption fees are $250–$350 for dogs and $50–$150 for cats, and include spaying/neutering, basic vaccines, and microchipping, all required by our rescue.

All of our adoptions include a 7-day money-back approval period. After 7 days, a pet must still be returned to our rescue but adoption fees are not refunded.
