Keller's Story...
Sweet sweet Keller was found as a stray and his owners just never came. Keller is blind. When we were told that there was a blind dog at the pound we just had to get him out of there. Such a stressful situation for a normal dog, never mind one who can't see. When we first brought him to the rescue he was very confused and had a hard time with all the little dogs constantly yipping at him. We had to put him in a kennel run with another dog to keep him company and to play with. He plays well with other dogs and could care less about the cats, he just cannot have too many dogs around him at one time. Probably not a good idea to take him to a doggie park. This sweet baby needs a chance to have a good life. He has so much love to give. He needs a gentle hand and some patience. I promise you he will make such a wonderful companion! Keller is young, 18-22 months is the vet's guess. He is neutered, heart worm negative, microchipped and up to date on all his shots. Won't you please give this boy a wonderful forever home? ADOPTION FEE $250

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Keller, a Newark Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Newark, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Newark.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newark already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newark breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newark paves the way for another one to be saved.
