My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

8/8/16 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Adoption Fee: $150

Fostered in Louisiana

Age: 10 years

Weight: 5 lbs.

NEMO IS A YORKIE/CHIHUAHUA MIX!

6/15/16 - Nemo is a sweetheart of a pup that found himself in an animal shelter at the ripe old age of 10 years. More than likely another case of someone who chose not to take care of a pup’s medical needs and just dump them instead. He needed everything done. He wasn’t neutered and had such bad teeth that they were hurting him and he could barely eat. He was skin and bones, but has filled in nicely now that all of that is done. He is like a new/old man!

Whoever chose not to keep Mr. Nemo sure did lose out on this one. He is a live doll. He is animal friendly, doesn’t really play with another dogs, but does get attached and worry about the other fur-leggers in the home. Nemo loves sleeping in bed with his people, preferably under the covers next to his humans. He is a delicate eater, and if the only pup in the home, could probably free feed. He is a true lover and takes to all people, but will attach himself to his humans and is very clingy with them. He will follow his people everywhere, literally on your heels, so no turning around quickly. He is fine to be left when you have to leave, but really would love someone home more since he really loves to be with you. Loves to sit in a lap, loves to be held, loves to be talked to, belly rubbed, etc.

He isn’t a big fan of the rain and doesn’t want to go outside when it is wet. He isn’t a huge barker, but will alert you to things that could need your attention. He walks great on a leash. His number in age might be up there, but Nemo is still nimble and will jump on the sofa if you sit... almost before you are comfortable, he is in your lap, or on the back of the sofa right by your neck. If the bed isn't too tall he will jump up by himself there as well. However, he knows how to use doggie stairs to get up there, if you have them. Also, when jumping down off of furniture he prefers to use a large dog pillow/bed to cushion jolt to his tiny little limbs.

You will need to watch this one at first outside until he gets attached to you. He is so tiny and will look for ways out. But once he gets attached, he doesn’t want to leave you. He will still need a secure fenced yard or to be harnessed and leash walked.

His foster parents work during the day, but with someone home more often, his potty habits will get better, especially if they choose to walk him, since he seems to enjoy this. He is just so tiny and can’t hold it long. Also, he has this weird acrobatic act that he does when going number 2 where he has to be up against something. Truly not normal and rather odd, but he chooses to brace himself up against a pole, tree, wall, fence, furniture or anything when going number 2. We think that the leash walking will help with this as well. No one’s perfect and if you choose to see this face in person, his little quirks will go right out the window.

So, looking for Nemo? Well, we have found him and he is waiting for you!

5/25/16 - BIO COMING SOON!
