Here's what the humans have to say about me:
DOB May 5, 2013.
This is Smartie, who came to the TCR after his owner surrendered him due to his inability to care for him any longer. It didn’t take long for Smartie to win over all the hearts in his new foster home; his charming little self is very hard to resist not only from a personality perspective but as well from the standpoint of that adorable solo freckle on his upper lip which is just such an endearing feature!
Smartie still possesses many of the characteristics of a kitten in his extremely playful nature (crinkle balls are a big favorite), his inquisitive/curious side, as well as his enjoyment of chasing flies and or pouncing on bugs when those opportunities present themselves. When he’s not feeling energetic or investigative, he loves to squirrel and bird watch from a window perch, as well as laze in sunny spots throughout his foster home. Smartie also gets along really well with other cats and so his foster family believes that he would benefit greatly from having another kitty in his forever home; one to keep him company and perhaps even want to engage in a bit of play
He will seek his humans out when he wants affection, making little chirping sounds seemingly to announce that he wants to be petted; his preference being either his human's lap or chest for a good snuggle, where he’s been known to fall fast asleep, purring quite contently. In the early days of his arrival into foster care however, he was quite nervous and fearful and although there are still some instances where he likes to retreat until he deems it safe, he is a much more confident kitty presently, one that can also be described as gentle, sweet, and loving. That said, Smartie will be best suited to a home where he will be given the chance to settle in at his own pace, and where his new family can have patience with him as he does so.
