Sandy is a lovely girl who was running loose around the Woodlake Golf Course here in San Antonio. it appeared several families were feeding her. In short, my elderly friend's daughter was visiting and frequently went in to the back yard to smoke. Sandy started coming up and hanging with her. Soon she was staying at the house more and more, so my friend started feeding her.
After a couple weeks of allowing her to come and go as she pleased, my friend took her to the vet, had her heart worm tested, gave her her shots and started her on heart worm prevention. She brought her back to her house, all the while knowing she is just too big for her to keep...she uses a walker and is on oxygen. But she felt her recently deceased partner had "sent" her so she wouldn't be so lonely. Sandy started coming into the house, and finally staying in the house, sleeping in my friend's bedroom. My friend took her to be spayed, but she realizes she can not care for her...she can't take her outside or on walks. But, Sandy loves living in the house...she is very quiet, calm and loves toys.
