Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My world is pretty terrific, outside of not having a real home of course. I love playing and running in the backyard, sniffing out all the good smells and playing with my squeaky toys. I'm looking for a special person who can overlook that I can't see. And that they CAN see that I'm a dog, and a great one at that. I've had no issues being blind and foster mom doesn't need to care for me any more than any other dog. You know about the 5 senses, right? Well, dogs use their noses more than any other sense and maybe that's why dogs do super well without sight. And it didn't take long for me to figure out foster mom's house or find my soft, comfy bed! Are you the kind of person who can SEE past a slight disability? I hope so because I really want a home of my own where I can lick and love to my heart's content.
Erica is a beautiful, female pure-breed german shepherd with a heart of gold. She sees with her heart and you can tell by her affectionate ways. She is extremely well behaved and loves everyone, including children and dogs. She can be a bit goofy and when bored likes to chase her tail. She's about 2 years old and was rescued off a very busy street where she could have been easily killed. An eye specialist couldn't tell us the cause of Erika's blindness or even if she was just born blind, but either way, her intelligence allowed her to fully adjust.
If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog at our weekly adoption event on Saturdays at the Petsmart in Yorba Linda, CA (5521 Mirage St.) between 1-5 PM, please fill out an application from our website, poochmatch.com, and return it via email to poochmatch@hotmail.com no later than 11 AM on Fridays. Due to the high volume of dogs and puppies in our foster homes, it is impossible to bring them all every Saturday. The only way to ensure that the dog that you are interested in will be at the adoption event is to FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the dog you are interested in will be at our adoption event. If you cannot make the time frame of our events, appointments can be made at another time and location solely at the discretion of the foster parent.
All adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, necessary vaccinations, fecal testing and deworming. Adoption fees vary solely based on age and size.
