On April 2 I was hit by a car and boy, did it hurt. No one would take me to the vet, I think they just didn't have the funds. Then Ms. Pat, my fabulous foster mom, came along. She saw that I was in pain and in a few days she noticed I wasn't moving too much outside. She took me to the vet and they said I had a broken femur way up near the hip so I could not get a cast. While there Ms Pat got me my first shots, heart worm test, and a Rabies shot. I also had blood work, fecal, and urine work up, nails cut, a well deserved bath, and my ears cleaned and the second set of shots. I have a certificate for a snip snip (ouch) and will have that taken care of shortly.
I'm pretty smart, well behaved, and low maintenance and Ms Pat taught me how to "play" with toys and how to eat out of a bowl. I'm pretty good at both now. I can even let her know when I need to go out.
Now the leash is a different thing. I don't know why I need it. Most of the time I'm not leashed when we go for a walk. Although we don't go far but I am happy and want to run and Ms Pat was afraid of falling. But I didn't ever leave her.
Princess, Ms Pats' other furbaby, and I get along. She just wants All of her Mommy's attention. So do I. I haven't been around any kids or cats but I'm pretty easy going all around.
I hope I didn't talk too much, but I'm excited.
If you or anyone you know is interested in giving me my forever home, please contact Courtney at Courtney@savinggraceanimalrescue.com and/or complete an adoption application under the Forms tab at www.savinggraceanimalrescue.com

About Saving Grace Animal Rescue - AL Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Saving Grace Animal Rescue is a Christian-based, nonprofit organization that strives to assist others with helping animals. We recognize how difficult and overwhelming it can be to rescue and foster animals so that is where we help. Although we do not have a shelter, we are able to foster animals through a network of wonderful volunteers. We also assist people by informing them of the resources located throughout Central Alabama that can help make their efforts that much easier. We are always in need of foster homes so the more we have, the more SGAR can help. Contact us if you or anyone you know of has the space and desire to take in a homeless pet while we find them their furever homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our animals, please complete a nonbinding adoption application found under the Forms tab of our website www.savinggraceanimalrescue.com
Also, feel free to contact us through email at either courtney@savinggraceanimalrescue.com or lindsay@savinggraceanimalrescue.com if you have any specific questions about an animal or about our foster program.

We hold adoption events the 3rd Saturday of each month from 12 - 4 p.m. at PetCo in the Brook Highlands shopping center off of Highway 280 (Birmingham, AL).

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption fees for canines and felines are $100.00. If a puppy or kitten has not been sterilized at the time of adoption, a spay/neuter certificate is provided to the adopting parents. All applicants must fill out a nonbinding adoption application and adoption agreement. We do perform vet reference checks on all applicants and will perform a home inspection for all bully breeds.
For out-of-state adoptions, an additional charge will be included to cover the cost of transporting the dog as well as the cost of the health certificate to travel across state lines (this will be an additional $150.00 thus a total of $250.00 for the adoption fee).
