My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

July 2016 update: Roscoe is a 7 month old (as of late June) Dachshund mix. He weighs around 12 lbs so he is just a little nugget. He is good with other dogs but is not a big player; he would rather be around people. Roscoe likes children too; we don’t have any cat info at this time. He can be a little nervous around bigger dogs at first but once he realizes they aren’t going to hurt him, he relaxes. Roscoe is housebroken and and 100% adorable! He slept in his southern foster mom’s bed and curled up under the covers; he is not a big lover of the crate. He loves everyone but tends to pick out one person and be their shadow. It will be important to help him bond to more than one human friend.

Roscoe’s Maine foster family says he is great with people of all ages. He met a 10 year old child and jumped right in his lap. With a 3 yr old Roscoe was giving kisses. At the beach he’d go up to everyone to be petted.

He will play with toys but mostly he loves his humans. His foster family is working to socialize him with other dogs. He is definitely a smart little lap dog – he would love a family who is home a lot because the crate is not his favorite place.

Roscoe is a sweet and lovable little guy! We brought him to an adoption event recently and he was so much fun, prancing around for the cameras!

Please note, we do not have a physical facility where our dogs are housed, they are cared for in our network of wonderful foster homes throughout New England. If you find a dog you would like to meet, our expectation is that, once approved, you will travel to meet the dog in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
