Linus - in Maine's Story...
These little darlings are around 9 months old (as of early June), they were delayed in their travels so they could be treated for demodex but that is now under control. We really don’t know their breed mix – two of them look like Dachshund mixes and two are more Lab like, but they all are small so definitely have a small breed in there somewhere! These cuties are playing with the other dogs in their foster home and are doing wonderfully. Libby weighs around 12-15 lbs and Linus is a bit bigger at 15-17 lbs; Levi and Lacey are close to 25 lbs.

Please note, we do not have a physical facility where our dogs are housed, they are cared for in our network of wonderful foster homes throughout New England. If you find a dog you would like to meet, our expectation is that, once approved, you will travel to meet the dog in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.

Thank you for considering rescue!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Linus - in Maine, a kennebunkport Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in kennebunkport, or seeking a Dachshund puppy from a breeder in kennebunkport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in kennebunkport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a kennebunkport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in kennebunkport paves the way for another one to be saved.
