Blue's Story...
AVAILABLE 04-08-16 Blue came to the Shelter on 04-05-15 when his owner could no longer care for him. He had some how cut his neck, so was taken to the Vet for some medical attention and it has now healed rather well. Blue is only about a year old, so he still has some of that puppy playful energy. This spunky goofy boy loves attention. He does okay on leash and is always ready to take a walk. Since his arrival at the Shelter, Blue has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. His test was negative for heart worms so he's been given a preventative. Blue is a bit unique with his one blue eye and one brown eye – maybe a little Husky or Aussie in him??? When you come to the Shelter, be sure to meet Blue – you might decide to make him your new canine family member.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Blue, a Elizabeth City American Pit Bull Terrier/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/Australian Shepherd for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
