This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area.

Meet Casper the Albino Chihuahua!! Casper is the sweetest guy, but he's no ghost! He is a love bug, and ready to shower his love on you.
Casper is an albino chi mix whose name reflects not only his color but also his very friendly outgoing nature! His personality is just awesome. He loves all dogs and all people, children and adults alike. He plays so well with all the foster dogs at his house. And if he isn't playing he wants to snuggle with his foster mom. He loves being in her lap, very close to her. Almost cat like. Sometimes he wants to be under the blanket and sometimes not. He's not a big barker, but he does enjoy chasing those squirrels running along the top of the fence!
Casper is very smart. Casper is leash trained, crate trained and potty trained. He uses the doggie door whenever needed too. He is smart enough that if someone were to train him to do some basic obedience like shake and sit, he would be very good at that. He would also do well in any type of agility activity. He is a guy who wants to please you, thus is very coach-able and is trainable
Casper came to us from an owner surrender thru one of our vet clinics. He had been adopted from a local shelter just two months prior. But he had been having chronic bloody diarrhea ever since they adopted him. Several rounds of antibiotics did not have a long term effect and they just couldn't continue. So CRT stepped up for this special guy. We tried the antibiotics first too. Long story, short version, we have tested for Addison's Disease, a comprehensive lab Fecal test, (which did find a bacteria not treatable by the previous medications), and general blood work. After all has been said and done, the final consensus is that he has Irritable Bowel Disease. As a result, he is on a special diet by Royal Canin called HP. It is a protein based diet where the protein has been broken down to a point that makes it easier for dog's to metabolize. He is also on a low dose of steroid to help. He hasn't had an accident in the house in two months as a result of his new diet and steroids
In spite of this diagnosis, his life span should be normal, but his diet is very limited. Please, if you can find a place in your heart and your home for this guy, you will be so happy!! If you want love and companionship in your life, this guy is your man. He loves to have his belly rubbed, loves being a lap dog, and rarely barks. He is one of those dogs you just instantly want to snuggle with.
Casper is approximately 1 - 2 yrs old. He has great energy and has many years of love and life ahead of him. His albino coloring is beautiful, and rare in a Chihuahua. We know he is going to grab some hearts immediately.

Casper is neutered, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative. and on heartworm prevention. He is ready to join a loving family - could that family be yours?
