My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Piper is a sweet, beautiful black domestic short hair/ Bombay mix female kitten who was born in March 2016. Like a typical playful, inquisitive, and affectionate Bombay mix, Piper has a shiny black-patent-leather coat and mesmerizing copper-penny eyes. Bombays are often called Velcro cats because they bond with their humans so well, and Piper is no exception. She loves to cuddle with her foster family, including the gentle child. But she is no couch potato! She loves to play with her large family of foster mates and, once she was slowly introduced, is good around the small dogs in her foster home.
Please don't be superstitious of black cats! Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have previously had a black or Bombay mix cat end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced. To find out more about Bombay mixes, watch the attached 2-3 minute You Tube video that appeared on Animal Planet or Google "Cats 101 Bombay."
Piper is one of 10 kittens who were living under a building in the museum district and who were trapped by a wildlife professional. She is so grateful that he reached out to Buster's Friends to rescue her from the local kill-shelter. Despite her hardscrabble beginnings, she has adjusted well to a "cushy" indoor life with brimming food bowls in her foster home. Although she enjoys the chaos of having a lot of siblings with whom to cuddle and play, she also would like to find a family of her own to spoil her for the rest of her life. Won't you give a home to this adorable mini-panther?
Piper is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. Her adoption fee is $125 for kittens 9 months old and younger, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Piper, and we can let you know exactly where you can meet her.
