They call him Mr. Happy! Dalton is a canine ray of sunshine! This very sweet and gentle boy is a Boxer/Pitbull/?? mix (a.k.a. an adorable MUTT) with a heart of gold. He is always smiling and happy about life. He LOVES children and gets along well with other dogs, too.

Dalton is just 5. He’s a big boy at about 75 pounds, but he is a real pussycat. One of his favorite things is getting his belly scratched. He is also a big fan of chasing the ball – whether you throw it for him – or he does it himself. Imagine… a self-fetching dog!

Dalton is a very sensitive and caring boy. He is very devoted to the people in his midst, and seems to consider it his duty to keep everyone happy and smiling. He’s a bit of a clown.

Dalton’s owner asked his former neighbor from Jacksonville; now residing in the Savannah area; to foster Dalton while his family worked out their housing situation. Month’s later Dalton’s owner informed the foster mom that his job is moving him to Texas and he will not be able to take Dalton. They have asked her to try and find him the loving home he deserves, and she has enlisted the help of Find My Pet A Home.

Dalton is a doggie diplomat – he gets along with everyone. He is great with dogs, cats, kids, seniors, strangers and friends. He would make a wonderful emotional support dog for someone with depression, anxiety or other mental health concerns.

Ideally, Dalton would very much love to be the beloved family dog in a home with kids to adore him, and whom he can love right back. His former family had a small child, and Dalton really misses her! Dalton would love a securely fenced yard to play ball in, and a family with lots of time to spend with him. He wants to be your focus – not an afterthought. He would also like a family that is reasonably active. He enjoys staying fit with a good daily walk – a great motivator for everyone in the family to stay fit.

Please offer this wonderdog the loving home he needs and deserves. This is a dog that will wag and smile his way into your heart and home. He’s very special!

About Savannah Find My Pet A Home

About Our Rescue Group...

In many locations throughout the USA and Canada, shelters are rescues are filled to capacity, leaving pet owners who can no longer care for their pet with nowhere to turn. Many pets are needlessly being euthanized.

Being placed in a shelter is a very stressful experience for all pets - and their owners. We offer a very good alternative, allowing pets to stay in the loving care of their owners while a new home is located for them.

We have helped many pet owners in need to place their pet in a home where they have great peace of mind in knowing that their pet is being cherished, well cared for and kept safe, happy and healthy.

Come Meet Our Pets...

In most instances, our pets stay with their owners until a new home can be located. There are some situations which require a more urgent placement, and in these instances, we look for loving foster homes to care for these pets until a permanent home can be located.

Our Adoption Process...

When a pet is placed with our organization, our staff create a very honest and compelling adoption story about the pet, using the information provided to us.

We then spread the word about this pet's need for a new home through a wide variety of online services, and through local outreach.

Interested parties are directed to fill out a formal request to meet a pet, providing in-depth information about themselves.

Before a potential adopter is introduced to a pet, we do careful reference screening and a criminal records check.

Should the pet's owner and the adoptive party agree to an adoption, a formal agreement is entered into, requiring the new owner to agree to keep in touch, ensure the pet's physical and emotional well-being, and provide a safe, happy and healthy home.

They are required to agree that they will not surrender the pet to a shelter or give away the pet - but rather they are to contact our organization so that we can find another suitable home, in the event that they are unable to fulfill their commitment.

The owners deliver the pet to the new owners, so that they can do a home inspection prior to leaving the pet in the new owner's care.

Our organization provides follow-up services, contacting the new owners after the first week, and then every 45 days for the first nine months post-adoption. This helps ensure the pet is being well cared for, and that the new owners have any support they need in adjusting to life with their new companion,
