My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! I'm Tutu. I'm the sweetest, prettiest girl you'll ever meet!

My friends think that I might be a Flat Coat Retriever mix. It's just an educated guess, though, as I came into the shelter as a stray. I know, it's such a bummer when there is no available history on us rescues. I wish I could talk to you and tell you all about my past and where I came from.

I'm probably about 6 months old. A puppy still by anyone standards. I've got the energy and zest for life to prove it. I am a super happy-go-lucky girl with a tail that never stops wagging. You'll always find a smile on my face!

As of now, I am an unaltered female, but before I leave to go to my new home, my friends here will have me spayed. I am up-to-date on my vaccines and I've already been microchipped. I weigh approximately 27 pounds right now, but I'm definitely still growing.

You've probably noticed that I have a bandage around my leg. Well, it's not clear what happened to me, but it's possible that I was hit by a car or my leg got caught on something. When I was brought into a local high-kill shelter, I had a slightly fractured toe and part of the skin on my leg was ripped. It's what the medical community calls a "degloving." Not pretty, I know! Luckily for me, all it will take to heal is some bandage changes every couple of days.

You should know that I have bilateral hip dysplasia. Isn't that the saddest thing you've ever heard? I'm so young and already I have to worry about senior dog issues. With any luck, though, I'll grow out of it. My doctor says there's a chance that I'll need surgery down the road, but only time will tell. For now, I'm being treated medically and everybody is crossing their paws that I grow out of this.

I'm looking for an active family that will spend a lot of time with me. Even though I have hip dysplasia, I'm just as playful as any other puppy my age. I'd still enjoy going to the dog park, playing with my family in the backyard, hiking, or a trip to the dog beach. You name it, I'll probably want to do it! My hips don't slow me down one bit! If you think that I would be a good fit for your family, please don't hesitate to contact CageFree and tell them you want to meet me!
