My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please meet Burundi
He is not in foster care with CAA Rescue but remains in his adoptive home. His family contacted us to help rehome him due to his reaction to the young child in the home that after 2 years of trying is not getting any better.
Burundi has no toy aggression but tends to growl when eating his food or chewing a bone.
He is not crate trained but there is no destruction in the home when left alone as he suffers from no anxiety
Burundi is not a big barker and does not chew nor does he scratch anything in the home when left alone for upwards of 12 hours a day.
The reason for the rehoming is because he has snapped / nipped

Burundi is a well behaved handsome gentleman. He does not take off like huskies tend to do, he does not get on the furniture or jump over fences and is currently living with a cat and there are no issues.
He is very comfortable with calm cats, walks well on leash, understands commands: sit, stay, obey in both French and Spanish.

Burundi has proven dog social with the dogs he has met however when meeting dogs on leash during his walks he will either ignore them or growl. A vocal husky is a normal thing though
His best qualities: Confidence, beauty, affectionate, calm.
His worst habits: Snapping/Nipping
His family made this special note and recommends the following:
My dog is not good with infants or child. Never hurt any child, but he is not reliable (he could nip or snap, without being mean, just to keep the child away from bothering him). He would be very happy on a farm, a countryside home, and any home where he would get affection, attention, and space.
He is in great shape: he really needs his twice a day good walks, and access to a backyard or open space would be top.
Burundi is an extremely handsome boy who was purchased from a breeder in Mexico and has been with this one family ever since and for the last 12 years.
He is in great shape and his last vet visit was on May 31st.
If you would like to meet Burundi at his home in Montreal please write to CAARescue@gmail.com we will ask you to complete an adoption application so that we can learn a little more about you and if you are a perfect fit for Burundi we will make arrangements for you to meet him for potential adoption
A 3-Step process to adopt:
1. Fill the adoption form. It might seem long, but it’s the best way to find the right dog for you and your family!
2. We’ll arrange a meeting with the family so you can see if he’s the right one for you.
3. If you decide to move forward, you’ll be asked to agree to a home visit, fill-in and sign an adoption agreement and if possible make a donation to rescue.
