Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Granite (AKA Gunner) was found trying to play with some dogs in a back yard. He was a stray and is heartworm positive. Granite is doing well in his calm foster home, and we think he'd do best in a permanent home without lots of noise and chaos. He seems to prefer women to men and teenagers, and he does better when people ignore him until he approaches them first. He likes to play with other dogs, and loves his stuffed hedgehog. He is housebroken at his foster home, but marks at other homes he's visited. Once he's comfortable, his silly side comes out . He rolls around on his back, loves belly pats, and will gently play and pat his foster humans with his mouth, head and paws. He is not very vocal, even if other dogs are barking. He loves his safe haven crate, and sleeps in it, or on the bedroom floor at night. He has learned his name, sit, stay, wait, down, and off. His foster mom has also taught him to sit and stay when doors are opened, until she tells him "ok". He is a very smart dog and eager to please once he trusts you.
Granite does not have food aggression, but will guard his food bowl if other dogs go by it, and will begin to eating it all up quickly. We're not sure how Granite would do with cats since he hasn't met any. Approx DOB 5/24/14
