Jiff's Story...
Jiff was brought to our shelter as a stray. We think he is somewhere between 8-10 years old. We also aren't sure about his breed but we are guessing a Chihuahua mix (possibly mixed with a Dachshund due to his long body) While Jiff loves his fast-paced walking and occasional jog, he pretty much has an overall calm and mellow personality. He loves laying next to you (or on your lap) and just relaxing. Jiff does get along with both cats and dogs (his size); however, he prefers that they have they same calm personality as him- he isn't a big fan of other animals with too much energy. We also think he would do best in a home with kids older than 12 years.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jiff, a Bronx Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Bronx, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Bronx.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bronx already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bronx breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bronx paves the way for another one to be saved.
