Pixie's Story...
Pixie is a favorite at our shelter. She is definitely not a couch potato! This dog wants to get out and GO; to hike or run or play frisbee or go adventuring with her person. She's an enthusiastic love bug looking for the yin to her yang, someone with whom she can embrace the world and then snuggle up with at night. She's smart and that, combined with her energy, is making life in a kennel very frustrating for her but once she is in a home, she should be easy to train with positive reinforcement and an outlet for that energy. Her energy is perfect for an active person. Her jumping ability shows her potential for dock diving, disc games, or agility. Pixie is an affectionate sweetie who likes to low crawl to get lovin’. She is a great travel buddy; she rides very well in the car. Pixie is gorgeous and a true athlete. She is a great dog just waiting for the perfect home!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pixie, a Elgin American Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Elgin, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Elgin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elgin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elgin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elgin paves the way for another one to be saved.
