My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bella is a Sheltie mix (perhaps American Eskimo) that out does the Energizer Bunny. Although we were told she is about 7-years-old, she seems much younger and loves to be outside, supervising whatever activity her humans are up to. Mornings are her favorite time of day. She noses every plant to see if there is new growth. She watches the birds and the squirrels to make sure everything is as it should be. In short, Bella is in charge! Because it has taken a little while for Bella's personality to emerge, her foster family has given the little sweetheart nicknames that suit her depending on the day. "Grrrr-Bella" when she is voicing her opinion. "Bella-rina" when she is flying around the back yard, zooming over 5 acres with a huge smile on her little face. And "Stinker-Belle" when she looms over a smaller dog to make her opinion known. We think Bella would do best in an adult household with her as the only dog, in full charge of everything. And we have promised her that the right match is out there waiting for her. We just have to keep looking. Bella's health is excellent. She is spayed, has all her vaccines, is heartworm negative, has great baseline bloodwork and is microchipped with a Home Again chip. She loves to eat, go for long walks, play with toys and go for car rides. I bet she would enjoy a four-wheeler or a golf-cart too. A dog-savvy person with a sense of humor is just waiting for Bella to come along. Could that be you? Please begin the process for adoption by reading our Policies & Guidelines and, if we sound like the right group for you, proceed to the online Adoption Application. From there, our receipt of your completed application will be confirmed by email. You will receive a follow-up phone call if we feel you are a good potential applicant for the dog. Lots of good conversation with the foster family, a reference from your veterinarian, and a home visit round out the screening process. We take dog adoption very seriously. Please put a lot of thought into why you want to adopt a dog, and help us make a good match for your family. We appreciate your taking the time to visit with us. We will look forward to hearing from you as well.
