'Corin' is a neutered male sheltie with a bit of baggage. In his 4 1/2 years of life, he has been in at least 4 homes. He is a chubby and cute little fellow with good energy and a fondness for training. He is one of those shelties that may be suspicious of strangers for his entire life. Shelties tend to be shy by nature but Corin is even less trusting than most of the ones we meet. So whoever is interested in building a life with Corin will need to take the time to make a strong foundation for the trust to grow. It is possible that the key to Corin will be in one-on -one 'track and field' events, walking and running. As a very wise obedience trainer once told me, love travels down the leash. That is another way of saying that a relationship will develop between you and your dog while you are out enjoying some pretty basic activities. Walking (and talking as you go) lets a dog know that you think enough of him to focus your attention on him and spend your spare time with him as the center of your universe. Wow! Quite a concept, isn't it? Corin is in good health. His blood chemistry, CBC and thyroid tests are all within normal ranges. His vaccinations are up to date and he will be microchipped with a Home Again. He will stay in his present home until the right match is found for him. It is a little out of the ordinary for us to handle an adoption this way, but it will be easiest on the dog. We will begin by taking applications from adult only homes with someone home a good deal of the time for the sake of his security. Let's see what the universe has in store for little Corin.
