Here's what the humans have to say about me:
May has a long, sad story which began in Anguilla, she was alone, nearing death from starvation and fighting hard to keep herself and her 7 puppies alive. Living on a property where she was not wanted or cared for and hiding from people, life for May was more than difficult, it was nearly impossible until one day a visitor to the island spotted this emaciated girl and got her the help she and her puppies so desperately needed.
Long story short, May was trapped, brought to the shelter, placed in foster care where she raised not only her own seven puppies but an orphaned pup as well. May was a super mom! May was nursed back to health being treated for malnutrition, heartworm and two tick borne illnesses.
Beautiful May learned to trust people, saw her puppies all adopted into loving homes and then she came to NJ where she lives in a foster home. She is a wonderful, affectionate, playful and loyal dog.
May loves walks and walks well on a leash, she enjoys hikes as well as snuggles. She would do best as an only dog since she is possessive of the people she loves and prefers to have them to herself! She is great with other dogs in all other regards though and does well meeting and playing with other dogs.
She weights 30 pounds, is lean and athletic, is spayed and current on all shots and is strong and healthy with no lasting effects of her previous life.
