My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

10-20 Update: Spud is an easy going large boxer mix. He is not particularly fond of small dogs, however large dogs such as himself are fine. He would also be quite happy as an only dog as well. He is a true companion dog. Spud is in search of a home that is home most times, that can again help him through his fear of inclement weather. A retired person/family would be great. He is also great with children, so children/grandchildren would not be an issue for Spud. He is neutered and current on vaccines. All he wants to do is be your easy going, low key, Best Bud! 11-19pud1If you withchildwould like to make this happen for Spuddy, or know of someone who can, please complete an Adoption Application if you've not already done so. 7-24-16: Spud is a great dog; remains low energy. He is fine with large low energy dogs. Small, high energy barkers are not for him. He has one favorite toy he carries with him... Tater Tot! If you move Tater Tot away from him, he will go and get Tater to sit next to him! See new pics of Spud & his stuffed animal Tater Tot! How cute is this guy!! See below for more on Spud--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spud is a male, boxer mix. He is approximately 3 years old. Right now he is a bit on the thin side, having been found as a stray dog and not having had the benefit of a good diet for some time. But he has a huge head and feet, and when he fills in he is going to be a "big boy". Be that as it may, he is super gentle and just wants to be hugged and pet. We have no idea how he ended up in a shelter as a stray and his people did not come looking for him. He clearly was a house pet as he certainly knows what a sofa is..... and wants to curl up on one at any opportunity he can. He does not steal things off counters, has house manners, and stands at the back door when he wants to go potty. He is totally fine going into a crate and does not have any sign of anxiety being crated while his foster family is at work during the day. He is not a barker, and so life in a setting with close neighbors would be fine for him. He is not a high energy guy but more of a "take me for a walk, then snuggle with me on the couch" kind of pooch. He seems fine with most dogs, and although he is curios about cats, he does not seem to want to cause harm. Having said all that, here is the drawback, he can jump a low fence, so a home with no fence that will leash walk him, or a home with a 6 foot fence that he cannot jump, is required for him.
