This is a courtesy posting for our friends at Rough Start Horse Rescue who always has around 40+ head of horses of all ages and riding levels available for adoption at their farm near Edwall, Wash. We foster horses for them every year and often attend events with them as a volunteer.

Please DO NOT email me asking which horses they have now but contact the horse rescue directly at www.roughstart.net

These are past shots of their adoptable horses at local fairs being ridden by amateurs and volunteers at area fairs and shows. Their web site is never up to date with their adoptable horses when they are out working and training the horses they have needing new homes.

The best way to reach them is call and leave a message which you will find the rescue phone on their site: www.roughstart.net

About Dachshund Rescue NW & Dachshund Club of Spokane

About Our Rescue Group...

We were Dachshund breeders for 25 years until we started our rescue in 1991. All our dogs are personality guaranteed, we do test drives and take them back if not working out. They are all fixed, UTD on shots and worming, pretrained and we warn folks about any personality glitches we find so they know what they are adopting from us.

We have adopted or help to adopt over 1300+ dogs since 1991. We place on average 125+ dogs each year and placed 132 dogs in 2015 alone, a new record for us. But we turn away around 500+ each year so we do what we can to help the pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering all our adoptable pets before placement.

Please read our web site for our adoption contract, waiting list form and adoption policies before getting in touch. We are already answering 500+ emails a day with this rescue. Thank you.

Our dog rescue is located at the director's farm northwest of Spokane. There is no bus service here. Directions are given once an appointment is made in advance and once our pre-adoption paperwork is filled in so we can match dogs to their new families.

We also accept any purebred Dachshund needing a home at any time in the Pacific Northwest. Please call if this is an emergency placement ONLY. Please call our home phone at 509-796-2140 but please do not call this number to adopt one.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees vary depending on how much is spent on the dog to get them ready for adoption but start at $150 and up depending on what we spent to make the dogs adoptable/

Please read all the details about our adoption process on our main web site at http://www.spokanewienerdogs.org on our To Adopt?Fee page before getting in touch with us. Many questions are already answered on our web site. Thank you. Adopters do need to start our adoption process with our waiting list form rather than with a phone call or email. Thanks.

Our most current pets for adoption are listed on this web site and here: http://www.drnw.petfinder.com

We have volunteer and adoption visiting here at 10 am daily with an appointment in advance. We do not maintain a retail location for our dog rescue so visitors are welcome, 3000+ visitors a year now, by making an appointment in advance. Closed Wednesdays.
