My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Addie (Adelaide) is a special girl who is looking for her special person. Addie is about 2 to 3 years old and is 12 pounds. She was found as a stray and not able to use her hind legs. We have been working with Addie to gain back her mobility and she has made a lot of strides! She can stand on her own and once in a while she can even take a step. Her prognosis to regain full mobility is really good. Continued water therapy and/or acupuncture would be a big help, but Addie will also do well with physical therapy at home by moving her back legs for her and using a hind end harness to walk her along and strengthen her muscles.
Addie is up to date on vaccinations including rabies, is microchipped and spayed. Her adoption also includes a hind end wheel cart fitted just for her, a hind end support harness to assist in physical therapy and a “drag bag” to keep her legs safe from harm when she is not in a wheel cart on a soft surface.
Addie is very playful, but can be possessive of her person when it comes to other dogs. This behavior has been decreasing since she has been recently spayed; however. Addie would be best in a home with no small children due to her own vulnerabilities. Addie is generally good with other dogs as long as she feels she is being attended to as well. She is the same way with cats. Addie is not house trained at this time, but once she regains use of her hind end, then that could be worked on. Addie wears diapers and/or sleeps on potty pads at night. She does not like to sleep alone at night (she is not crate trained and does not like being in a crate at all) and likes to co-sleep with her person. It is best to diaper her at night to prevent messes.
Addie is definitely a special needs girl but she will reward you in kisses and someday when she is able to walk on her own fully, she will amaze you! Her adoption fee is $200.00.
