HI! My name is Murko. I am a handsome guy who loves cheek rubs, cat nip bags and windows! You should know that it takes some time for me to warm up to new people and places. I get a little nervous at first and sometimes I will hide and hiss. But with the right treats and some cheek rubs I will quickly become your best friend.
I really like other cats. They help me to not be so scared all the time. I like to play with them once I get to know them, which takes a bit of time. When things are quiet and it's just you and me, I will crawl on your lap or lay on your chest and demand that you pet me. I will rumble my big purr and give you kisses in return, but only when there is no other cats around. I don't like to show my soft side to my cat friends!
I was adopted 4 years ago from Toronto Animal Services by my mom. She was really great to me and I loved her a lot. About 2 months ago she passed away and there was no one left to take care of me any more, so I had to go back to the shelter. I was very scared there. Luckily for me Toronto Cat Rescue found me a foster home. I really like my foster mom, but I am still a little scared of my foster dad and most men. I miss my mom a lot and sometimes at night I still look for her.
I need someone who is going to be patient with me and not be offended when I hiss at them at first. I need someone who knows that sometimes I need to hide, just for a bit.
Special note from my foster family: Murko is a sweet boy with a lot of potential. He enjoys being around humans and cats. He needs time to adjust to new places and people and sometimes will run and hide. He loves to give kisses and is very curious. Sometimes he gives love bites and we are working on him being more gentle when he is being pet. Murko will made a great addition to a home with another social cat, or to someone that is around a lot to give him all the love and attention he deserves!
