My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BRENNA is a 4 year old spayed yellow female Lab who weighs 75 pounds. Brenna is a super sweet, a little shy, girl from the country. Poor thing was abandoned by her "owner" and ended up at a rural shelter. They called us for help. She is super sweet and loves affection. She can be a little shy but warms up quickly. New things scare her and she tenses up. At the vet when we went to weigh her she tensed up but once she got used to the vet surroundings and people, she relaxed and settled in and did great. Brenna is a good rider and is good on leash. She is keeping her run clean at the vet and loves her blankets. She is good with other dogs. She is approved for kids 10+. More info soon!

Update: Hi everyone, Brenna here! I'm a sweet, happy, precious yellow girl that weighs around 75 pounds and I'm around 7 years old. Now Foster Dad says I don't know my size because ALL I want is to be loved on. I'm so happy to see you that my tail is wagging me and I'm verbal (whining in joy) to let you know that I'm so happy to see you. So, sometimes I'm overcome with joy!
Just to remind you, I was abandoned by my previous owner who didn't tend to my medical needs. Once I was spade and had a benign mammory mass removed and got into my foster home they noticed that I was having some petit mal seizures. I'm now on Phenobarbital and Potassium Bromide tablets. They are helping me greatly. Foster Mom was telling someone that it cost less than $50 a month for both medications. She said that's not bad at all! (I'll take her word on that since I don't have any money.) I do know that I'm doing so much better and I feel great. I'm hoping this doesn't scare you away because I'm looking for my forever family. I do well on the leash, crate trained, house trained, like other dogs but I like to be the dog that gets most of the attention. I can gobble my food down and I think my meds are treats. I won't get on the sofa without being invited but boy am I happy when you do invite me! I'm awaiting you. I know some might think it's a long drive but Foster Mom says that I'm worth it and it's actually a pretty drive. Look forward to meeting you soon! Love, Brenna

Update: Brenna's Brightside: I'm around 7 years old and healthy. It seems I have been having petit mal seizures. It is unknown if I had these before but I'm on medication now. We are still "tweaking" things but soon it will be all done. I'm sort of Velcro or tag along with my people kind of girl and I can be an attention hog. I most definitely love to play ball and I do retrieve. Yep, I'm a people pleaser! I been known to open up the latches on a chain linked fence or two or maybe even a crate door. It's only because I want to be with you and I absolutely do not want to escape. I get really excited when I see you and I start crying out in pure joy. I sleep through the night and only get on the furniture when invited. I get along good with ornery dogs but I want to be in charge too. Love, Brenna

Update: Brenna is feeling much better. Her lumps and bumps are all benign and her seizure activity seems to be in control with the meds.

Update: Brenna is starting to settle in at her foster home and is getting used to her 5 canine foster siblings. She is a bundle of sweetness. She's a little unsure of everything that has happened in her life. You see, Brenna was abandoned by her family when they moved and she doesn't know why. Was it that she was just too loving because all she wants is attention and acceptance from her people? You can tell Brenna loves to run and play. It appears that she's interested in water because we have to watch her to make sure she doesn't jump into the pool. She's on some restrictions due to just being spayed and having a mammary gland tumor removed. We are waiting on the results from the vet. She eats well and really enjoyed the yogurt, chicken broth and boiled chicken that was put in her dish last night. This was a treat since she's taking her medications with ease and this includes the bitter Tramadol. She does well on leash but sometimes pulls. You can tell Brenna is very intelligent. While she is good in the crate, she will test to make sure you locked the door. She also whines a little when first put in but settles quickly now that she's getting used to the routine. She will need some help in learning that car riding is ok since she's a little nervous about it.
