My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Max was an owner surrender from an elderly lady who could no longer care for him. He looks like a havanese mix. He is approx 7 years old and 11 lbs. He is just the sweetest dog, very independent - just does his own thing. He gets along with all of the other dogs. He seems to be very well house and leash trained, loves riding in the car, and loves people. He is a happy little dog and is going to make a great companion for someone. He had some flea allergy dermatitis and has some patches of hair loss over his body, which we are working on him with some medicated baths and vitamins for the skin and coat - and his coat should grow back fully.

The total adoption donation of $475 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. .

Just as a note, if you are in Massachusetts and are adopting directly from Texas rather than from a local foster, there are new quarantine laws in effect. All rescues must be quarantined 48 hours at a state run facility, and in addition, a second interstate health certificate is required to be issued by a Massachusetts vet. This new law adds an additional cost of $125.
