Max's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Max's Story...
Max was an owner surrender from an elderly lady who could no longer care for him. He looks like a havanese mix. He is approx 7 years old and 11 lbs. He is just the sweetest dog, very independent - just does his own thing. He gets along with all of the other dogs. He seems to be very well house and leash trained, loves riding in the car, and loves people. He is a happy little dog and is going to make a great companion for someone. He had some flea allergy dermatitis and has some patches of hair loss over his body, which we are working on him with some medicated baths and vitamins for the skin and coat - and his coat should grow back fully.

The total adoption cost of $475 includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration . The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. All our dogs are in foster care, there is no physical shelter. Some have not yet arrived in PA.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a Allentown Havanese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Havanese for sale in Allentown, or seeking a Havanese dog from a breeder in Allentown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Allentown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Allentown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Havanese breeders who help with Havanese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Allentown paves the way for another one to be saved.
