My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ben, or Benji Big-Ears as I privately call him, is a handsome, sweet-hearted gentleman who would love to make your acquaintance. Shy at first, Ben has become very outgoing and is always anxious to make new friends. Ben enjoys attention; especially if it involves chin scratches, head rubs, hugs, brushing, and lots of petting. If you do a good enough job, not only will you be rewarded with lots of purring but you'll also be rewarded with some drooling! When you walk into his room, the expression of hope on his face is just too much to resist - you can't help but to shower him with the love he craves. I truly believe that Ben would be content to have you pet him, brush him, and just love on him until your arm fell off.

Ben can be quite the conversationalist, especially if he is hungry! It's funny, you would expect a deep meow to come out of Ben - instead you get a tiny meow. Even funnier is sometimes he'll open his mouth to meow and nothing comes out! Some of our volunteers swear that if you talk to him about your day, that he really seems to listen to what you are saying. A loyal and true friend indeed!

Ben has a playful streak, finding feathers very entertaining. He finds it amusing if you toss fuzzy balls or mice up to him while he's perched in his condo as well. Nothing brings out Ben's inner tiger more than a pen. Start writing in front of Ben and he immediately tries to bite the end of the pen and grab it from you. Just the mere act of picking up a pen in front of Ben is enough to make him spring into action! When Ben isn't busy playing or trying to get your attention, he is happy to settle on a kitty condo especially if it is located in a sunny spot in front of a window.

There are many sides to this sweet-natured, affectionate brown tabby, all of them endearing. There's something about Ben that just touches you at your core - when you look into his beautiful eyes, take in his handsome tabby face with his big ol' ears, and hear a near silent meow come from his mouth, well, he just melts your heart.
